THE NEW ZEALAND ANIMAL BREEDING TRUST’S 2016 field notebook
The iconic field notebook is now back in print
When we exhausted supplies we told many “that was it, no more, no more ever”.
However in response to on-going pleas we’ve reprinted one size, the 500-ewe book.
Everything about the book is unchanged from previous edition, except for the introduction:
The NZABT does not issue statements. We have worked to keep the unit price of the field notebook down and have not allowed for time spent chasing payment. Your co-operation is appreciated.
The iconic field notebook is now back in print
When we exhausted supplies we told many “that was it, no more, no more ever”.
However in response to on-going pleas we’ve reprinted one size, the 500-ewe book.
Everything about the book is unchanged from previous edition, except for the introduction:
- Will hold 500 ewes having up to 3 ewes each
- Is a hardback bound book suitable for use in the field
- Has a bright orange cover for ease of finding in the grass
- Dimensions in mms are 110 wide x 220 high x 2 deep
- Front section layout is for the ewe mating/lambing records
- Back section layout is for the progeny post-lambing records
- Includes list of official SIL sheep fate and status codes
- Includes a cross-reference to mark off lamb numbers to avoid duplicates
- The design (size, shape, colour, paper, format) is based on breeder feedback on many versions over a great number of years (from Sheeplan through Animalplan to the present day).It should therefore work for you
- Some breeders pre-enter their ewes at mating in ewe id order and start each age-group on a new page (space permitting) and some also stick tabs when the age group changes
- Some breeders enter the ewes as they lamb and so the front section will be in lamb tag order
- If you record with the NZABT we can enter your records direct from your field notebook into SIL
- This covers handling and postage and GST
- Multiple orders are the same per unit price
- Your order will be despatched promptly with a Tax Invoice
The NZABT does not issue statements. We have worked to keep the unit price of the field notebook down and have not allowed for time spent chasing payment. Your co-operation is appreciated.
